Afriqiyah Airways, represented in South Africa by AVIAREPS, started operations to South Africa in September 2009. With 2 direct flights a week from Johannesburg to Tripoli, Afriqiyah Airways offers smooth connections to Europe into London, Paris, Amsterdam, Dusseldorf, Brussels and Rome. Two new routes were introduced in July 2010 to Milan, Italy and Lyon, France. Connections are also available into Dubai, Cairo, Morocco, Casablanca, Malta and many more. Afriqiyah Airways offer lie-flat beds in business class and the widest seats in economy class on any airline flying out of South Africa of 53cm wide.
