Since the 24 page issue was published in February 1980, The GSA Travel Marketing Magazine has grown to become the most comprehensive printed reference source available to the Southern African travel industry. Published monthly, it now comprises of over 320 pages of updated information on local and international tour operators, hotels, guest houses, game lodges, general sales agents, airlines, air charter, car rental companies, conference venues, cruise lines, visa guides and other vital local and international travel related products. The GSA provides Travel Agency personnel with instant product information, in a printed, as well as digital format. It is the ONE reference source when an agents needs to find anything.

Circulation:
Approximately 1150 travel agencies in Southern Africa and abroad are paid subscribers to over 4,000 copies of The GSA each month, taking an average of four copies per office. Additional copies are distributed to advertisers, tourist offices, consulates, airlines, local and international tour operators and other travel partners who make use of The GSA for travel information and offer their customers travel advice and travel tips. Training institutions, who make use of The GSA as part of the Travel Agency efficiency courses order bulk amounts resulting in a total monthly print order of over 5400 copies.
Readership:
The GSA is a day-to-day working manual for the travel and tourism industry and is used literally thousands of times per month throughout the sub-continent. Overseas offices of South African Tourism report that their copies of The GSA are in constant use and are indispensable. Advertisers themselves also form an important readership sector, as they are frequently asked for recommendations on other travel related products and services
Advertisements:
Advertisements form the main body of the magazine as they contain much of the reference information needed by the travel consultant. They are placed alphabetically in categorised sections according to the product type and are well indexed.
Editorial:
Each edition of The GSA carries approximately 24 pages of news, the bulk of which is to be found in the ‘TravelShop’ section with additional editorial interspersed throughout various sections of the magazine. News items are concise and informative and are generally intended to inform the reader about new products and services, special offers and the like.
Education:
Over 30 colleges, technikons and other training institutions teach their students how to use The GSA, as part of their travel agency efficiency courses. More than 4,500 copies are purchased each year for this purpose. It is also used as a working manual in examinations.
GSA Online
GSAonline is the internet version of the monthly printed magazine and was introduced in March 2009 to give GSA subscribers an alternative travel information medium. It offers its users an exceptionally fast, easy-to-navigate online directory with supplier information, pictures, web and email hotlinks.
